Welcome Tom Murphy

We are excited to welcome Thomas (“Tom”) Murphy as a Managing Director to lead our activities in Aerospace & Defense (A&D) and associated sectors within our U.S. Investment Banking platform. With 25 years of experience, and longstanding relationships, Tom brings deep knowledge to CG.  He has been an active advisor for a variety of clients, with diverse transaction experience in equity capital markets (ECM), mergers & acquisitions (M&A), debt advisory, special situations, financial sponsors, and private companies.

Prior to joining CG, Tom was the Head of Aerospace and Defense at Fifth Third, Lincoln and Baird. He also worked in the Industrials investment banking practice of Stifel Nicolaus and Friedman, Billings & Ramsey.

Tom will focus his coverage efforts on companies across a multitude of A&D sectors, including Aerospace Services, Machining and Engines, Defense Products, Communications and Intelligence, Defense Technology, and Security Products and Services.

Tom graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Based in our NY office, Tom will lead the client development and deal execution for global aerospace, defense, and security companies, including those commercializing emerging technology applications. His appointment strengthens our Industrials franchise, restarts our efforts in a historical sector of deal activity for CG, augments our positioning in Defense Technology, and expands our coverage in key growth areas with M&A and ECM transactions.
