Alex Bedwany is exactly where he wants to be. But he’s not resting. There are too many things about being an expert in the Mining sector that demand constant research and analysis.

“I love to get to the bottom of things. I love to ask questions,” Alex smiles. “What makes this work? What’s going to happen next?”

Born in Sydney, Australia and raised in a working family, Alex learned at an early stage about the benefits of hard work from watching his parents and also playing on football and rugby teams. Combining that work ethic with his natural inclination to dive deep and learn, Alex went on to study economics, and after meeting his Canadian wife in Singapore, he moved to London.

As a Senior Analyst with CG’s office in the UK, Alex loves the sector he works in every day. “It’s connected to everything,” he says. “EVs, food production, electrification…, it’s linked to every big issue.” CG’s entrepreneurial, hard-working but collegial culture means a lot to him. “My team is so on the ball,” he boasts politely. “They really are excellent. And the vibe is truly positive. There’s a really healthy energy at the firm.”

A lot of Alex’s life wisdom springs from the ideas of his football coach and work mentors. “Find people you look up to and emulate them. Never stop growing,” Alex says. “The day you stop wanting to learn, it’s time to do something else.”
