Emily Jonynas' Story

When you know Emily, you know our values.
Emily was born to reach great heights. Growing up in Vermont, she started that process early. “Basically, I’ve had skis on since I could walk,” she admits. The youngest in a family of four children, Emily headed off to boarding school in Massachusetts, where she was introduced to Economics. She loved what she discovered and decided then and there that she wanted to find a way of working in the financial world.
Emily’s bright, ambitious, and positive personality is underpinned by strong logical thinking. That’s perfect, because as a Managing Director of Institutional Equity Sales at CG’s New York office, she sits on the trading floor and puts those core attributes to work, helping clients throughout their investment process. “My job is a mixture of personal and analytical skills,” she says.
And while the trading floor can be a tough, challenging environment, Emily loves the collegial and friendly vibe that is part of CG’s culture. “All the people I work with are so wise and helpful. They truly want to see me succeed.” And she’s been able to pass on that mentoring quality to younger people who join the firm.
It’s easy to get the impression that Emily genuinely cares for others. And that’s not just limited to her colleagues. She’s also been known to volunteer at local soup kitchens, serving those less fortunate in the community.
“I have ‘you-can-do-it’ parents,” Emily says proudly. “They both worked hard for everything they achieved, and they passed that drive on to each of us.”
