Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers' Private Capital)

On 18 January 2010, Canaccord Genuity's client Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers' Private Capital), together with management, completed the acquisition of Acorn Care and Education Limited from Phoenix Equity Partners. Canaccord Genuity provided M&A advice, debt advice as well as industry expertise and contacts.Acorn Care and Education, established in 2005, is a leading provider of special needs schools and independent fostering services in the UK. It operates 10 specialist schools across the UK, providing day and residential care and education for children with special educational needs. Through Fostering Solutions (a fostering agency), it also manages foster placements across seven regions of the country.
