Hunt Mobile Advertising
CG Results International has advised Hunt on its acquisition by Opera Mediaworks
Headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hunt is the leading independent mobile advertising company targeting the Spanish-speaking market, including Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic audiences. Hunt offers solutions to discover, build brands and capitalize on the mobile internet sector.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Hunt brings advertisers unsurpassed audience reach, millions of unique users, sophisticated targeting capabilities, and the opportunity to deliver engaging experiences to consumers on their mobile devices throughout Latin America and worldwide. Hunt’s platform is compatible with all major mobile operating systems and can deliver ads on over 15,000 different mobile device types and models.
BACKGROUND ISSUES
As the leader in mobile advertising in Latin America, Hunt received inbound inquiries regarding possible acquisition and partnership possibilities. Hunt represented a turn-key solution for any group seeking an immediate leadership position in one of the fastest growing mobile advertising markets in the world. Management continued to focus on driving growth and to evolve the company’s leadership role in mobile advertising in the region. However, management understood that Hunt’s growth and technology leadership could be accelerated even further with the right strategic partner.
GroupArgent identified Opera Mediaworks as the partner with the highest potential for value creation. Opera Mediaworks, part of the Opera Group, the Norwegian listed parent, is among the top five mobile advertising leaders in the world. The company was looking to grow in Latin America and wanted to go beyond what they could organically do to accomplish such growth.
WORK PLAN
GroupArgent provided strategic financial expertise aimed at maximizing value for Hunt. GroupArgent ran a very focused cross-border process designed to maximize the chances of a successful outcome while minimizing disruption to the business.
Our multi-cultural and multi-lingual capabilities allowed us to manage the transaction process across New York, San Francisco, Oslo and Buenos Aires, bridge the cultural and transactional differences between an entrepreneurial emerging market business and established global buyers, and operate seamlessly across time zones during the transaction process.
OUTCOME
Through GroupArgent’s model of deep sector expertise and broad network, we achieved to complete the transaction with financial metrics reflecting the quality of the company, the prospect of continuing growth in a rapidly changing market, and the value of the synergies we identified with the strategic partner.
The company continues to operate as Hunt and management remained on board. The transaction provided Hunt with the tools and technology to achieve continued growth.
