Louise Hall's Story

When you know Louise, you know our values.

For Louise Hall, it’s always been about progress.

Growing up in Essex, as the middle of three children, she remembers a few things clearly. “They were the loud ones; I was the quite one,” she says, speaking fondly of her siblings. “I was never really in trouble. And I was always interested in math.”

It might have been because her father was a Wealth Management executive, but regardless, Louise studied business and finance in college. In fact, during school, she took a part-time job at a financial firm which led to an offer for a full time position in the Anti-Money Laundering team. “I was eager to learn, and I learned a lot. I was a machine,” she says with a smile.

Louise loves the financial industry because of its dynamic nature. “It’s always changing, and you have to be adaptable.” Having joined CG’s UK office in 2017, she currently works as a Finance & CASS Officer (Custody and Client Assets). Whilst her role is predominately in finance, she spends a third of her time carrying out efficiency projects and looking after client assets. “It’s my job to make sure everyone follows the rules,” Louise says.

CG’s core values of work ethic and teamwork resonate with Louise, who loves the culture here. “I’m CG through and through. I couldn’t ask for better colleagues. Everyone’s keen to help you learn, and as a young person, that’s hugely important.”

Her advice for others is simple: “Be confident, speak up, work hard,” she says without hesitation. “If you want something, you have to go for it.”

If all of that isn’t impressive enough, Louise also makes an impact in her community. “I volunteer at a homeless charity where I cook food for people in need.” Recently, she was also part of a volunteer trip to Ghana for teaching and education. “I love culture and people. I sponsor a girl and am helping pay for her education. One day I’d love to make an impact in a country like Ghana. I want to provide the opportunity to learn…the way I was given opportunity here.”

That’s more than progress and career success. That’s impacting others in a life-changing way.

Our values are best explained in a story. Louise’s story.
