Summary/Overview
Working within the Financial Services team, you will have the opportunity to provide financial advisory services on a wide range of strategic transactions (including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and re-structuring), capital-raising projects and debt financing mandates to financial institutions.
Working directly for an Associate/Vice President on a project by project basis to support Directors and Managing Directors in the Investment Banking Team in the origination and execution of corporate advisory transactions. This role will also provide support and guidance to Interns and junior Analysts, where appropriate.
The Role
- Undertaking valuations of businesses using a variety of methodologies, including relative valuation techniques, leverage buyout models and discounted cash flow analyses, and presenting and discussing the results with the project team, clients and prospective clients;
- Undertaking detailed financial modelling and analysis including valuation and assessing the financial impact of transactions;
- Analysing industry and sector trends, commercial analysis of individual businesses and case studies of transactions;
- Drafting and reviewing marketing materials and other documentation including pitches, teasers, information memorandums, management presentations, strategic review papers, valuation papers and admission / prospectus documents;
- Collating comments from the project team, clients and other advisers on materials produced and working with the team to produce revised materials; and
- Involved in transaction process management, supporting Associates / Vice Presidents to ensure projects run smoothly, expected to attend most meetings, and to work directly with the client’s Finance Director and other senior management.
Our Ideal Candidate
- At least 18 months experience in M&A from a reputable Investment Bank/Boutique ideally within the Financial Institutions team, or three years' experience within the financial services division of one of the Big 4.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
- Completion of CISI Level 3 Certification in Corporate Finance or a qualification as a Chartered Accountant would be advantageous.
- Highly numerate.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised and reliable, self-starter, motivated and ambitious.
- Team player capable of fitting in with the collegiate culture.

Summary/Overview
Working within our Advisory Investment Banking team this exciting role will provide the opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the business and its facilities; whilst also providing administrative support to the Tech & Healthcare and wider Advisory Teams within Investment Banking. The role will include managing front of house, greeting clients and visitors and specifically ensuring that the overall welcome is both professional, warm and timely.
Reports to: Personal Assistant
Roles and Responsibilities:
PA duties:
- Meeting and greeting clients and arranging refreshments.
- Answer the phone, screening calls and taking messages as required.
- Provide refreshments and lunches for client and any internal meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the wider Advisory Team as and when needed, and holiday cover for the other Personal Assistants.
- Update information in the CRM (Dealcloud) for instance client meetings, calls and marketing target lists.
- Work closely with the Personal Assistants supporting them on any ad-hoc requests and support on company events (in particular internal events).
- Support the team on coordinating any IT issues with IT helpdesk.
- Printing and binding documents as required by team members.
- Supporting the set-up, running and tracking of internal and external events.
General Office support:
- Creating and maintaining security passes for the office including temporary passes.
Booking couriers. - Coordinating with our Facilities team with any ad-hoc H&S and facilities queries, reporting any maintenance and engineering issues.
- Replenish, tidy and set up meeting rooms as required (including IT set up) ensuring office environment is maintained.
- Liaising with suppliers and with ground floor reception.
- Monitor and order stationary and other supplies and managing contracts with suppliers, managing other orders for office including ad-hoc lunches.
Experience and other skills required:
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Strong multi-tasking and proactivity.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Excel especially preferred.

- Available to attend the office 5 days a week, with flexibility required to start at 8:00 depending on client meetings.
