Stockbroking Director
I have worked in the finance industry for over twenty years. I am passionate about financial markets and, in particular, direct equity investing. I started my career at Barings Asset Management in the 1990s in the private client discretionary team. After a brief hiatus to learn to fly helicopters in the US, I returned to Guernsey and took up a position on the stockbroking desk in October 2008 - just as the global financial crisis was in full swing.
Whilst a lot of things have changed in my time at the company, such as the way markets are traded and the systems that are in place, the fundamentals to investing remain - and this is where my passion lies. I am a member of our advisory stock selection committee and offer advice to a diverse client base.

A bit about me:
As a father of four young children and husband to a corporate lawyer, time is very precious. The weekends are generally spent enjoying family activities and any free time outside of that is spent watching and playing sport. My other hobbies include poker and skiing.
What does can-do mean to me:
You could call it an ethos, an approach, or an ideology. We simply call it can-do.
Finding the right balance in everything you do. Being ambitious and achieving goals is very good, but only if you can make the journey fun along the way.
