Matthew gained an honours degree in Economics and Finance before graduating from Southampton University in 1999 with a Master’s degree in Econometrics and International Financial Markets. He undertook extensive research into the equity risk premium before joining HSBC Investment Bank on a graduate training programme. He settled in the Private Client division, where he managed investment portfolios, as well as specialising in portfolio construction, tactical asset allocation and research, at both sector and stock level. He joined Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management as part of the acquisition of Punter Southall Wealth, where he has managed a variety of investment mandates and developed and implemented inflation-based dynamic asset allocation solutions for a number of years. Matthew is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and has over 15 years' investment experience. He was recently featured as one of the UK’s top 50 wealth managers by Spears.
