CEO of Locks & Mane
Locks & Mane was founded in 2014 with a mission to deliver high-quality, affordable, natural human hair extensions to the everyday consumer. Says founder and CEO, Jennifer Parrott: “I struggled with thin hair for years, and I was never happy with the products being offered to help others like me. I wanted to create a product that would appeal to the 20-year-old university student, the 40-year-old professional and the 60-year-old grandmother”.
From its humble beginnings in a small storage space within a fitness facility, Locks & Mane quickly expanded to a true brick & mortar location. Wholesale partnerships with companies like HBC, Lord & Taylor, The Shopping Channel (TSC) and the Home Shopping Network (HSN) soon followed. L&M has also been featured in notable publications like ELLE, Vogue, Fashion Magazine, Marie Claire, InStyle and The Huffington Post.
In May 2017, Jennifer’s son was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 3½, and she and her family began their three-year journey working with the incredible team at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. She saw firsthand how the impact of treatment extended beyond physical changes, particularly with teenagers. Leveraging her business network, she saw an opportunity to give back by empowering and lifting people up during one of life’s toughest experiences. Jennifer since has partnered with SickKids to support their mission to create a future of healthier children by personally providing teenage cancer patients with customized, 100% premium human hair wigs and a community of supporters. By establishing the non-profit, Strong Like Me, her goal is to help as many teenagers as possible ease their transition during chemotherapy, and allow them to feel like their strong and confident selves again physically, mentally and emotionally.
